Elsa Benoit
SopranoElsa Benoit was already singing at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw while she was still a student. She stands out with her “flawless top notes” ([BR Klassik]) and the “beguiling nonchalance” of her bell-bright colouratura has been a constant source of delight at major opera houses: “Every note she sings is expressive” ([Süddeutsche Zeitung]). After studying in Rennes, Angers-Nantes, at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and at the Dutch National Opera Academy, Elsa Benoit was offered a number of engagements at opera houses, including Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. She is also in demand on the concert stage with her bright, lyrical soprano – in works such as Brahms’s [Deutsches Requiem] and Gustav Mahler’s Fourth Symphony.
