En avril 2016, après une longue interruption pour cause de maladie, les Berliner Philharmoniker fêtent d’heureuses retrouvailles avec Seiji Ozawa. Le programme de la soirée est consacré au classicisme viennois. Après la Sérénade Gran Partita de Mozart, interprétée sans chef par des membres de l’orchestre, viennent deux œuvres de Beethoven : l’ouverture d’Egmont et la Fantaisie chorale, qui préfigure clairement la Neuvième Symphonie.
