Sir Simon Rattle est un fervent admirateur de Johann Sebastian Bach. Les concerts des Passions qu’il a donnés quand il était chef principal des Berliner Philharmoniker ont enthousiasmé le public. Dans cette Late Night consacrée aux cantates de Bach, il est soutenu par Anna Prohaska, dont la voix de soprano claire et limpide est idéale pour ce répertoire, le contre-ténor Christopher Ainslie, le ténor Patrick Grahl et la basse Jan Martiník.
