Elza van den Heever has “a fantastically captivating voice” ([Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung]). So it is no surprise that the singer, who comes from South Africa and lives in France, has now established herself as one of the world’s leading representatives in her field with her radiant soprano. She trained in San Francisco and made her breakthrough in Europe, where she delighted audiences in roles by Puccini and Strauss. Today, Elza van den Heever has a broad repertoire ranging from Handel to the great bel canto roles and contemporary music. With the Berliner Philharmoniker, she impressed audiences as the Empress in Strauss’s [Frau ohne Schatten].
