Dans l’une de ses dernières apparitions en tant que président fédéral, Joachim Gauck a rendu visite aux Berliner Philharmoniker afin de présider un concert caritatif pour l’UNICEF. Deux stars mondiales ont répondu à son invitation : Zubin Mehta et Pinchas Zukerman. Au programme, la Symphonie n° 5 de Tchaïkovski, post-romantique et tourmentée, et le Concerto pour violon d’Edward Elgar, qui séduit par un langage musical à la fois moderne et chargé d’émotion.
