Avec ce concert spécial de juin 2014, les Berliner Philharmoniker et Daniel Barenboim célèbrent le 50e anniversaire de leur heureuse collaboration. On y entend le Concerto pour piano n° 1 de Johannes Brahms, aussi exigeant sur le plan technique que musical, avec Barenboim en soliste et Sir Simon Rattle à la baguette. Le programme est complété par La Question sans réponse de Charles Ives et les Métamorphoses de Richard Strauss.
